My first impression of GGATA’s White Lights was that this EP pretty much goes hand-in-hand with summer. It’s fun and upbeat with infectious lyrics. The vocals, especially, caught my attention. At times, they were a bit too auto tuned, but notable nonetheless. Props to Chris Baldwin (vocals).
White Lights starts off with the track “Drowning In My Downtime”. This one will pull you in within the first three seconds. At first, it seemed to be another indistinguishable, pop, love song, but; by the time the chorus rolls around the song seems a bit hostile and it’s obvious that this is not just a love song anymore. All I have to say is, bravo. This song is awesome.
The second track, “Late Night” is one of my favorites of this EP. It seems a bit skeezy at first, but is totally appealing. Definitely plan on getting the lyrics “The first rule of not getting caught is to never confess,” stuck in your head.
My other favorite, “Dreams,” is just a bit, but not too much, slower than the rest of the songs. This is made obvious with the track’s sluggish start. That being said, this song was written extremely well (emphasis on the ‘extremely’). You’ll be able to feel the emotion without fail.
Overall, Girls Get All The Action put out a phenomenal EP. I highly recommend this too everyone, even if you’re not a fan yet.
