You know those CDs with lyrics so killer you listen to the song and immediately proceeding you scan the lyric book for the one chorus of that one song? The lyrics you immediately post on you aim away messages, about me's and in your aim profile? "Smile For Them," by Armor For Sleep, is definitely one of those CDs. Smile For The Camera," the first song on the CD has the song title right in the chorus which makes it a bit unforgettable. Its a chorus you can't get out of your head the singers voice is almost eerie, and it's a lyric to get stuck in your head. The CD takes a slower turn with "Somebody Else's Arms," the songs start to get a bit predictable around this track, and they tend to start blending together. They don't pick things up until track six. Track six, "End Of The World," is exactly as the song title states, its all about the end of the world. "Stars In Your Eyes" has to be my favorite track on this CD, the guitar in the beginning is catchy and more upbeat than the previous tracks. They start the CD with a melodic chant of 'lala's. The song gets better with the hook, and this song is less predictable than the others on the CD. The biggest problem I'm having with the CD is that the slower songs outweigh the more guitar packed songs that they've made their fans used to. Don't get me wrong, they make up for it in "Chemicals" and a few other songs, and their lyrics help them out the most. The singers voice is unique in its own way, it always has been. Armor For Sleep has their own distinct sound, not to mention killer lyrics that plaque the entire CD and now cover my aim away messages. I've been a fan of Armor For Sleep since the song "Car Underwater," this CD though, has an improved sound, although slow at times you can see how far these boys have come. Overall, its a good CD lyrically and musically and I can't get enough of the singers voice.
