"But who's to say this is a social scene anyway?"
We do not have change for $50, We do not have any youth mediums left, and the band will sign your stuff at the end of the show." Your words fall on deaf ears. God you hate this place. You never understand why people rush in at 6PM and buy merch like you're not going to still be sitting here 5 hours from now.
"so save your breath and the money you spent"
You've got in the habit of people watching. It's the best part of the night, because to be honest the bands aren't that great. There's not much else to do as you sit at the table night after night, even though you're well aware that these kids all look the same, anyway.
You saw Kelsey & her friend strut in earlier, didn't feel the need to say hi. Those girls love themselves enough for everyone in this room. You watched that kid in the opening band brush off his only fan, kinda sucks, especially because the band wasn't half bad.
You catch yourself singing along to the second band. After seeing them 4 times this month alone, what do you expect? Look over to your left and the only other band that could have headlined this show, is standing by their table. You'd say hi, but they have this silly habit of not remembering your name.
"Overrated boys and attention starved girls"
Your boys are no where to be found, except Nick... Who is he looking at like that? Oh, she's new, and cute--she better watch out, band boys can smell fresh meat. Looks like the boy in the opening band got to her first. Not like that's ever stopped Nick before.
"BRIANNA!" You hear in unison, Kelsey & company stand grinning at the table.
It's going to be a long night. Why do you torture yourself every week? Oh right, these boys are your best friends.
This is CHARM CITY and you're more than a spectator.
