part 15: tabitha's boy
"He's cute," you say to Brianna as you twirl around amongst a crowd of people. As your hands fly up in the air, it's grasped by the boy who you had your eye on. His lips graze your hand, and you giggle and blush.
Brianna gives you a grin, and you're loving every minute of this. You both laugh at Anthony looking pitiful behind his table, he missed out, and you're not looking back now.
"Sell me out I'm yesterday's old news"
Brianna's got a job to do, but once the last note is played, the cute guitarist hops off the stage and introduces himself. You swoon and giggle and talk for quite some time. You make it a point not to mention your age. That's something he doesn't need to know tonight.
You can feel Anthony burning a hole in your back as you talk with your boy. Eventually he has to go pack up the things he abruptly left on stage, but he told you not to go far, and you'll be sure not to.
"you will never wander too far to reach my hand"
Back at Brianna's table you tell her all about him. "You're so cute," she replies. The fourth band is loading up on stage, and your new boy appears with the rest of his band. They gear their attention toward the two of you.
The conversation is cut short because they have to go sell their merch, but you get invited to a party AND his phone number! You can't believe it! Your bright bouncy bubble is burst when Brianna reminds you, "your mother isn't going to let you go to a party..."
Your huge smile fades quickly, when you realize this is very true. "How bout I take you out for ice cream, and drop you off at home?" "I'm not a kid." "You know you want some ice cream." "True..."
You tell the boys you can't come, and when they ask why, "she's hanging out with me, then she has to make it home early tonight. I don't know what I'm doing after, but I'll stop by the party," Brianna replies seeing that you were at a loss for words.
"And you recite my words right back to me before I even speak"
Anthony calls you over, and (unlike him) you're not one to be rude. You excuse yourself and head in his direction. As you turn around, you see your boy say something to Brianna. They glance your way as you read Brianna's lips, "I'll make it happen."
THIS IS CHARM CITY AND MAYBE YOU'RE NOT MISSING OUT.
