How has the transition been since becoming This Love as opposed to Callahan? Does it feel much different?
It feels a lot different, actually. From the start of This Love, we have all been very focused and goal oriented, and I believe that it's already making a difference. Don't get me wrong; we all still have fun and hang out constantly, but there is definitely a much greater sense of accountability.
Your CD release show for The Beginning was recently in your home-state of Ohio. How'd that go? Did the crowd give you the response you were hoping for?
Our release show went incredibly well! We set up everything ourselves and thanks to a tremendous effort from our family and friends, it was a great success. With the help of Dayton locals, Let's Get It, there was a generously sized crowd and their response was very positive. We were definitely pleased overall and look forward to our next hometown show!
Speaking of the release of your album "The Beginning," how does it feel to finally have your work out there? There was not a lot of time wasted in between Callahan and This Love, did the recording process go smoothly?
It was definitely a roller coaster of a recording process, but now that "The Beginning" is out, it feels amazing! Ryan left Callahan in the beginning of the recording process so it really threw everything for a loop, but luckily we managed to get back on track and we can all agree now that everything worked out for the best.
Do you have anything in the works for a type of tour anywhere in the near future? Anything else we should keep our eyes open for?
We plan on a doing a promotional acoustic Hot Topic tour in late summer to promote the national release of "The Beginning" in Hot Topic. Also, we just recorded two acoustic songs that will be available exclusively on the EPs sold in Hot Topic.
It seems like you guys have accomplished some pretty cool things in a short amount of time, such as being having a full page article in Substream Magazine and performing live on DJROSSSTAR, where do you hope to be as a band by the end of 2010?
We are just going to keep working as hard as we can and keep creating the best music we can create. Only time will tell where that takes us.
After losing Brad and Ryan, how long did it take for you to decide that a new band was the next step? How did you go about finding new bandmates?
Fortunately, we found Joe fairly quickly, thanks to a recommendation from a close friend. However, as soon as Ryan left we knew we would have to become a new band
